Flanders, a cultural hotspot with lots of leisure opportunities
Flanders, full of history
Flanders is the birthplace of many of the world’s great artistic masters, including Pieter-Paul Rubens, Jan van Eyck, Anton van Dijck, Jacob Jordaens and the Brueghel family. It was also home to internationally recognized modern painters Roger Raveel, René Magritte, Leon Spilliaert and James Ensor.
Marvelous architecture can be found across Flanders, especially the historical buildings in cities such as Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Leuven and Ypres.
Sports, leisure and hobbies abound
Chances are, if you live in one of the main cities of Flanders (and in many of the small towns too), you’ll be right around the corner from an abundance of museums, galleries, theaters and cinemas. Countless cafes and fine restaurants featuring exquisite cuisine are common.
