Flanders proves itself a digital leader in Europe
Flanders is establishing itself as a leading digital force in Europe, outpacing neighboring countries such as France, the Netherlands, and Germany through its innovative government services. These initiatives are integral to the Flemish digital strategy aiming for a top-five position in the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI). This ambition is becoming a reality as recent assessments rank Flanders sixth in online government service availability, a notable rise from its 13th position in 2020, demonstrating significant progress in digital governance compared to its peers.

- Over the past year, 90% of Flemish internet users have engaged with government services online, marking an increase of 15% from the previous year.
- 92% of government services are accessible online to Flemish users.
- 71% of government services are accessible online to non-Flemish citizens.
