Gain access to European funding programs through Flanders
A portion of the EU’s budget is earmarked for subsidies, funds and other types of financing for corporate, governmental and academic projects that help Europe achieve its strategic goals. Through Flanders, foreign companies that are established in the region can gain access to and benefit from various of these European programs.
Countless options, a variety of sectors
There are many types of European funding opportunities targeting different industries. Below are the main sectors and activities for which EU support programs are available:
- agriculture and rural development;
- maritime, fisheries and aquaculture;
- research and innovation;
- energy, environment and climate action;
- transport and mobility;
- space and telecommunications;
- security and defence;
- and more.
Zooming in on R&D and innovation
One of the focal points of Europe’s vision for the future is innovation. Consequently, the available R&D funding is impressive, to say the least. Some examples include:

- EUREKA – this intergovernmental network stimulates market-oriented activities in the fields of research, development and innovation.
- InvestEU – this support program seeks to boost investment, innovation and job creation across the EU between 2021 and 2027. To this aim, a budget of more than EUR 372 billion has been earmarked.
