There’s just no stopping the growth of Bleckmann. The Belgian-Dutch logistics firm just announced an expansion, adding over 60,000 m² of warehouse space, at three strategic locations in Flanders. And if that's not enough, the company also commits to reducing its ecological footprint in the process.

Strategically located around the city of Antwerp

Good things come in threes, they say, and that’s certainly true for Bleckmann, which is currently expanding at three different locations in Flanders. West of Antwerp, next to the E17 motorway in Belsele, rises a brand-new fulfillment center with a total operational capacity of 31,000 m². Just a stone's throw away, in Grobbendonk, the company is adding another 20,000 m² to the already existing 100,000 m², making it the largest Bleckmann campus in Belgium.

As a leader in fashion and lifestyle logistics, Bleckmann is well known for its excellent customer service. “No matter what our customer asks, we take care of it,” says COO Reinardt van Oel. The new site in Herentals is a fine example of that. To meet the needs of one of their new customers, the logistics specialist opened an 8,500 m² distribution center that is fully equipped with the latest systems and technology.

Part of a sustainable solution

Bleckmann is strategically expanding with the goal of supporting and driving its future growth, but definitely with the future in mind. In each of the three projects, the company has made significant investments to improve the sustainability of the sites. For example, LED lights are being installed and combined with motion sensors to further reduce energy consumption. And through the use of mezzanines and the most optimal rack structures, the logistics specialist is making the best use of the sites’ surface areas.

More of that!

Bleckmann is no rookie in the global field of logistics and Flanders is both historically and geographically a crucial location for the Belgian-Dutch firm. In 2020, the company opened a distribution warehouse in Ghent for British e-commerce brand Gymshark. Their tight partnership even earned them a joint nomination for Flanders Investment & Trade’s 2021 Foreign Investment of the Year Trophy.

And there’s a lot more where that came from, as the leader in supply chain management solutions is planning to complement its nearly 300,000 m² of operational space in Belgium at MG Crosswoods, a brand new carbon-neutral distribution center in Kruisem, near Ghent.
