Only a month after Zorabots, a robotics and IoT company based in Ostend (Flanders-, won a mega-contract in Saudi Arabia, the young company secured another major deal. “We are taking a massive leap forward,” says Zorabots co-CEO Tommy Deblieck.

In different corners of the world

After years of investing in R&D, things are suddenly moving fast for the Ostend-based tech company Zorabots. Just a month after closing a major deal in Saudi Arabia for their software platform to help power the city of the future Neom, Zorabots secures a multi-million-dollar contract in North America.

As such, ArcoInfo, the Canadian subsidiary of Belgian business process digitization and automation specialist Arco Information, will integrate Zorabots’ software platform into its solutions for North American customers. In Canada and the US, ArcoInfo works for government bodies and large enterprises such as telecom company Roger Communications and healthcare giant Tenet Healthcare, among other customers.

All sorts of smart solutions

Zorabots was founded by co-CEOs Fabrice Goffin and Tommy Deblieck. Their focus was initially on robotics, with the company programming robots from other manufacturers to work in healthcare or hospitality, for example.  Gradually, Zorabots broadened its focus to controlling a wider range of smart solutions. These often run on the same components as the ones Zorabots’ robots worked with.

This led to the development of the ZBOS platform, software for controlling both robotics and applications for the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart devices, including self-driving vehicles. “Our platform is unique in the world because it can make all those types of technology talk to each other,” explains co-CEO Deblieck.

Recruiting to seize momentum

“Zorabots is taking a massive leap forward,” Deblieck continues. “We are virtually bursting at the seams. That’s why our priority now is to recruit 30 to 50 people.”

In this regard, Zorabots is looking for technical profiles to supervise installations, as well as a team to help with business development. Deblieck: “Fabrice and I currently still negotiate new contracts ourselves. But if we want to grow as much as possible, we need extra support. We want to be able to seize this major momentum to the fullest.”
